About Winter

Artist. Author. Alternative Healer.

Winter Ross works in the medium of Imagination. She is convinced that the creative mind has the power to heal both individuals and the world.

Winter holds a fine arts / illustration degree from Rhode Island School of Design, and has exhibited nationally. While an MFA candidate in printmaking, her fabric art received excellent reviews. It remains one of her favorite mediums along with painting and mixed media. She had a long career as a graphic designer which included Rocky Mountain PBS.

Winter's short stories, essays, and articles have been published in various art, environmental and literary journals. 4 Warnings: Shamanic Journeys, a chapbook of visionary prose, is available on Amazon. She was awarded first place in Short Story 2015 by the New Mexico Press Women's Association, and the National Federation of Press Women. Writing Samples may be found here:

As an EMT and Street Medic, Winter volunteered for two decades at environmental protests and activist trainings around the country. Her experience with the trauma she encountered led her to the study of alternative mental health, which she addresses through the practice of Core Shamanism.
