Artist's Statement

Winter’s intaglio prints, books, studio art quilts, and paintings reference psychological and religious archetypes, altered states, and earth-based philosophies. Her approach and style are inspired by the visionary Symbolists and Surrealists.

Ecofeminism is a philosophy that draws on the concept of gender to describe the relationship between humans and the natural world. It notes the connection between the domination of nature and the treatment of women. Ross's work often depicts the female form within or in relation to sacred landscape or shamanic practice.
